Electronic Signatures

ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES IN GLOBAL AND NATIONAL COMMERCE ACT

eTax Solutions, hereinafter referred to as “The Firm,” conducts business electronically.  Under the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act, we hereby notify you that:

  1. As a client of The Firm, you agree to do business electronically.
    • You will require a valid eMail address with which to communicate with The Firm; and
    • The Firm uses a portal to exchange digital files securely and safely. You will require internet access to utilize the portal.
      • You should use caution in utilizing a public internet connection as a third party may be able to access your secure information, making you vulnerable to identity theft.
      • The Firm encourages you to never send documents through regular eMail as a third party may be more easily able to unlawfully access that message, making you vulnerable to identity theft.
      • Digital files are most commonly exchanged as PDF, JPEG, DOC, ELXS or CSV. You must have access to software which will permit you to both create and open files of these types.
    • You are required to keep copies of all your tax documents, tax returns, and additional information you provide which is used to prepare your tax return. The Firm will only keep digital copies of client documents for the time tax authorities require The Firm to retain those copies.
    • You agree to complete our business transactions in this electronic format by:
      • Uploading your digital files through our portal; and
      • Downloading your digital copies from our portal; and
      • Receiving your tax return from current year software which The Firm utilizes; and
      • Completing and signing documents, when necessary, electronically; and
      • Receiving your bill electronically. You have the option to pay your bill electronically, or you may mail a paper check via USPS to:  eTax Solutions/Jen Horton, POB 129, Galena MO 65656-0129.

 

  1. As the consumer, you reserve the following:
    • The option to request any record be made available on paper.
      • If you wish to receive a paper copy of any tax form/report for which you have paid, you may request/and/pay a fee for a hard copy by eMailing The Firm at jen@jenhorton.com, or by sending a letter via USPS to The Firm at: eTax Solutions/Jen Horton, POB 129, Galena MO 65656-0129.  Paper copies will be billed at the rate of twenty-cents per page, plus $15 postage and handling; and
      • Circular 230 requires The Firm return to you immediately upon your request all documents you have provided; however, The Firm is not obligated to release any work papers and financial reports created from those documents, nor any interoffice communications related to the work.
    • The right to withdraw your consent to do business electronically.
      • If you no longer wish to do business electronically, you must notify eTax Solutions by eMailing The Firm at jen@jenhorton.com, or by sending a letter via USPS to The Firm at: eTax Solutions/Jen Horton, POB 129, Galena MO 65656-0129; and
      • If you wish to update information needed for us to contact you electronically, you must notify eTax Solutions by eMailing The Firm at jen@jenhorton.com, or by sending a letter via USPS to The Firm at: eTax Solutions/Jen Horton, POB 129, Galena MO 65656-0129
